About SketchDeck.ai

SketchDeck.ai builds SketchDeck (formerly LIFT), the leading AI-powered takeoff software for the structural steel fabrication industry. SketchDeck automates the manual process of counting beams, columns, and connections from 2D engineering drawings, cutting takeoff time by 50 to 80%. Our customers, steel fabricators and erectors across North America, use SketchDeck to bid more jobs, win more work, and grow their businesses.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Marketing Specialist to own execution across content and events. This is an operator role. You will work most closely with the Marketing Manager, and day to day with sales, customer success, and product, to get content produced, events run, and product updates communicated to the market.

What You’ll Own

Content

  • Produce and publish content weekly for every stage of the customer journey: blog articles, email campaigns, landing page copy, one-pagers, company LinkedIn posts, and customer case studies.
  • Run the case study and testimonial pipeline on set deadlines: source quotes from recorded customer calls, draft, secure customer approval, and publish. Verify every quote with the customer before it goes out.
  • Translate product releases into plain-language messaging for sales and customers. Work with the product team to decide which updates are promotable and build a repeatable process for announcing them.
  • Place customer-hero stories and educational articles with industry associations, trade publications, and podcasts, and support the CEO’s speaking engagements with session proposals and panel submissions.

Events

  • Coordinate logistics for industry events across two trade show seasons per year, including exhibiting, speaking, and hosting: booking and vendors, exhibitor portals, travel, shipping, and on-site team coordination.
  • Own pre-event and post-event campaigns: promotion, pre-booked meetings, customer dinners, and getting leads into HubSpot with notes for sales follow-up within days, not weeks.
  • Pursue speaking slots at every event we attend, and test hosted formats such as webinars.

Sales & Product Enablement

  • Build and maintain sales enablement materials: approved testimonials, competitive positioning, and current feature summaries the sales team can pull without asking.
  • Keep marketing, sales, and customer success aligned on what we are saying about the product and to whom.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a strong operator and a strong writer. You would rather ship this week than plan for next quarter, and you write well enough that the CEO trusts the draft.

Must-Haves

  • 2 to 5 years in B2B marketing with a portfolio of content you wrote and published yourself.
  • Compelling copy for every stage of the customer lifecycle: awareness content, demo and trial nurture, sales collateral, onboarding, and customer expansion. You can explain a technical product to a non-technical buyer and adjust tone for each audience.
  • Experience coordinating trade shows or corporate events, including vendors, travel, and logistics.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM and email marketing platform. Our stack is HubSpot, Fathom, Canva, Zapier, Clay, and Claude.
  • AI native. You use tools like Claude daily for writing, research, and analysis, and have used Claude Code or similar to build your own workflows or automations (preferred).
  • Quick to pick up new tools and features as they release, and able to figure out where they fit in a marketing stack and put them to work.
  • Organized and deadline-driven, comfortable following up with customers and colleagues to keep work moving.
  • Careful with facts: quotes, numbers, and claims are verified before publication.
  • Comfortable with a technical product and a niche industrial market.
  • Based in Canada. Mountain Time strongly preferred for in-person collaboration in Edmonton.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Background in construction, structural steel, manufacturing, or industrial SaaS.
  • Graphic design skills in Canva or Figma.
  • Basic video editing.
  • Experience writing LinkedIn content or speaking material for executives.
  • Experience with PR, trade media, or association marketing.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary.
  • Flexible remote work within Canada, with in-person collaboration in Edmonton when possible.
  • Target start date: October 2026.
